“NOOR Launches a New Specialized After-Sales Engineering Service:

In a new step to strengthen its after-sales engineering capabilities, NOOR Scientific & Trade’s Maintenance and Calibration Center has launched specialized Hydronic Balancing & Commissioning Services for heating and cooling water systems, delivered in accordance with HERZ technical guidelines using the professional HERZComp 650 measuring instrument.

The new service focuses on measuring actual operating conditions and verifying flow rates, differential pressure, and hydraulic balance across the system, helping ensure that system performance aligns with its intended design requirements while supporting proper flow distribution and efficient operation.

NOOR Hydronic Balancing and Commissioning Services using the HERZComp 650

NOOR’s engineering team delivers the service after successfully completing the technical training and assessment program conducted by HERZ Middle East FZE, qualifying and certifying the team to operate the HERZComp 650 and perform the associated activities.

The service supports both new projects during testing and commissioning and existing systems requiring hydraulic performance investigation, balancing, or verification, further reinforcing NOOR’s role beyond equipment supply as a provider of integrated after-sales engineering support.”

Product of the Month:

HerzCON Fan Coil Unit (FCU) Valve Assembly Kit.

HerzCON Fan Coil Unit (FCU) Valve Assembly Kit

It features a 65mm pipe center spacing, an integrated Pressure Independent Control Valve (PICV) with 3 test points, and a vapor-sealed insulation box.

Technical Specifications

  • Flow Rate Range (SF): 240 – 1200 L/h
  • Nominal Size: DN20
  • Flow Type: SF (Standard Flow)
  • Nominal Pressure: PN25 (Max. operating pressure up to 25 bar)
  • Temperature Range: -20 °C to 130 °C

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

A pre-assembled unit with 65mm centres, specifically designed for use with terminal units. Comprising a Monobloc flushing bypass with 3-way ball valves, a strainer and a drain off valve on the flow side and a PICV pressure independent control valve on the return side.

The PICV shall be pressure independent and fitted with an on/off or modulating actuator with a M28 x 1.5 mounting thread and 4mm stroke. Any modulating actuator should have proportion stroke recognition. The low flow version shall be specifically designed to regulate ultra-low flow rates down to 0.004 l/s.

The valve should maintain the flow at the desired flow rate as the diaphragm responds to the pressure upstream and downstream of the balancing valve (via an internal impulse line). The maximum volume flow should be set according to the flow charts by means of a key and can be reset at any time if required.

The unit must be configured to allow forward & reverse flushing. Rated PN25. The valve manufacturer shall provide a five year fully comprehensive warranty, covering parts, labour and consequential loss.

Egypt textile industry transformation for the August 2026 Monthly Forum

Monthly Forum:

A textile revolution is happening in Egypt

Egypt’s textile industry (once the pride of the national economy) is undergoing one of its most ambitious transformations in decades. A wave of foreign investments, industrial modernization projects, and public–private partnerships is reshaping the sector into a global export platform that blends Egypt’s traditional strengths with cutting-edge production capacity.

The Suez Canal Economic Zone emerges as a textile magnet. In just the past year, the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) has approved textile and garment projects worth hundreds of millions of dollars.

The SCZone has become the anchor of Egypt’s new industrial geography. The SCZone’s board recently approved five new projects worth $155 million covering textiles, garments, PVC flooring, and logistics expected to create over 5,000 jobs in West Qantara and Ain Sokhna.

Egypt’s textile revival is being driven by Asian and Middle Eastern investors repositioning their supply chains. China, Turkey, and Pakistan lead a new wave of textile investments.

Scientific illustration about sign language during sleep

Scientific Fact:

Deaf people are known to use sign language in their sleep.

Sign language is not just a daytime skill: for many deaf people, it’s the medium of their dreaming brain, too. Studies and firsthand accounts suggest that those who dream primarily in sign language sometimes unconsciously use their hands to communicate with dream companions, all while asleep. There’s not a lot of scientific data, but one 2017 case study describes a 71-year-old man with a severe hearing impairment was observed signing fluently during sleep. The researchers could even get an idea of what he was dreaming about by decoding his signs.

History of Science:

Semiconductors

History and development of semiconductors

Made mostly from silicon, the second most abundant element in the earth’s crust, semiconductors are the foundation of our computers (now in our cars, homes and phones, and on our wrists) and currently a $330 billion global business.

Semiconductors were first observed in 1833 when Michael Faraday discovered that silver sulfide's electrical conductivity increased with temperature, though the major breakthrough devices like the transistor were invented in 1947.

In 1958, Jack Kilby at Texas Instruments and Robert Noyce at Fairchild independently developed the first integrated circuits (microchips).

Celebration:

Al-Mawlid Al-Nabawi Al-Sharif - August 25, 2026

Al-Mawlid al-Nabawi is annually celebrated on the 12th day of the third Islamic month, Rabi' al-Awwal, by all Muslims worldwide through festive gatherings, Quran recitations, and sharing food specially occasion-specific specific types of sweets. This year, Al Mawlid Al Nabawi falls on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.

The most memorable occasion greetings are often the ones that speak naturally about mercy, peace and good character. Mawlid greetings shared within a family can carry more than seasonal good wishes. They can express gratitude for a parent’s care, recognize the comfort of a loving home or remind relatives that they are remembered in prayer.
