Egypt seals agreement to revamp railway
Egypt seals landmark agreement with U.S. firm to revamp railway.
The contracts, valued at over $235 million, are expected to reshape Egypt’s rail network by modernizing 100 locomotives, securing a long-term supply of critical spare parts, and providing technical support over the next decade.
According to the Ministry of Transport, the modernization of the 100 locomotives will include comprehensive replacements of engines, control systems, brake systems, and more — a near-total rebuild designed to significantly enhance reliability, reduce operating costs, and cut emissions.
The deal is part of Egypt’s broader strategic plan to strengthen its transport sector and accommodate growing economic demands.
The modernization effort aligns with Egypt’s goal to shift more cargo transportation to rail, an initiative expected to ease traffic congestion, lower logistics costs, and reduce carbon output.

Scientific Facts
How much information can the brain hold per second?
The human brain takes 11 million individual pieces of information per second, but we can only consciously process about 40 of those 11 million pieces per second.
There are two sides of human mind- conscious side and sub-conscious side.
Most of the information that is being processed goes thru the sub-conscious side. As the name suggests, we are almost unaware of it.
While, the conscious side, which possess the reasoning skills, only focuses on things which we order it to.

History of Science
Neon light
The French engineer, chemist, and inventor Georges Claude was the first person to apply an electrical discharge to a sealed tube of neon gas to create a lamp. He displayed the first neon lamp to the public in 1910, in Paris.
The word neon comes from the Greek “neos,” meaning “the new gas.” Neon gas was discovered by William Ramsey and M. W. Travers in 1898 in London. Neon is a rare gaseous element present in the atmosphere to the extent of 1 part in 65,000 of air. It is obtained by liquefaction of air and separated from the other gases by fractional distillation.
Georges Claude patented the neon lighting tube on Jan. 19th, 1915
