Monthly Forum

Egypt is qualified to be a global leader in renewable energy field:

Egypt is looking to raise its target for the renewable share of energy generation to ≈ 60% by 2040 in an updated strategy for expanding green power.  Egypt has achieved a great leap in the field of renewable energy. The ambitious strategy to increase the supply of electricity generated from renewable energy sources will put Egypt in a leading position regionally and globally. It also contributes to diversifying the energy sources on which the development process in Egypt depends and supporting the country to adopt green economic growth.   Egypt has opened the door to $40 billion of investment in green hydrogen and renewable technology by signing seven memoranda of understanding with international developers in the fields.

The projects located in the Suez Canal Economic Zone will see an investment of around $12 billion at an initial pilot phase, followed by a further $29 billion.

Egypt’s location in the global “sun belt” means it averages 9-11 hours of sunshine a day, with few cloudy days, giving it high potential for harnessing renewables for hydrogen production.

Scientific Facts

DNA Structure
The double helix structure of DNA, discovered by Watson and Crick in 1953, is fundamental to life. This structure contains the genetic code that directs the growth, development, and reproduction of all living organisms. DNA’s unique design has unlocked major advancements in fields such as genetics and biotechnology, enabling scientists to explore the molecular foundations of life.

History of Science

The Discovery of X-rays
In 1895, Wilhelm Roentgen’s discovery of X-rays revolutionized the medical field by allowing for the non-invasive imaging of internal structures. This groundbreaking technology transformed diagnostics and paved the way for modern imaging techniques that are now critical in healthcare. X-rays remain a cornerstone of medical imaging, showcasing the enduring impact of Roentgen’s discovery.
