Egypt launches its first locally developed industrial robot

Egypt has launched its first industrial robot developed using local technology, marking a new step in the country’s push to localize machinery, automation and smart manufacturing. It is Egypt’s important attempt to manufacture more of the technology its factories depend on rather than importing it.
It is designed to be integrated into real industrial applications rather than remain a research prototype. Around 80% of the robot’s components are currently sourced or produced locally. That is a relatively high starting point for an advanced industrial product.
The project is part of Egypt’s machinery localization push. Egypt has been prioritizing the local production of machinery and production-line equipment so that factories become less dependent on imported equipment while local engineering companies gain a larger industrial market.
Mansoura University supported the project with scientific research, technical knowledge and information on industrial needs. The cooperation shows how universities can play a more direct role in industrial product development.
Your left lung is about 10 percent smaller than your right lung.

Your left lung is about 10 percent smaller than your right because it makes space for your heart, which sits slightly to the left side of your chest. Right lung is larger, heavier, and shorter because the liver sits beneath it. It has three lobes (upper, middle, and lower) while the left lung is narrower and has a special indentation called the cardiac notch to fit the heart. It has only two lobes.
Despite holding less air, the left lung works with the right lung to oxygenate blood efficiently, optimizing space for major vessels and airways while maintaining respiratory and circulatory function.
Global Positioning System (GPS)

The Global Positioning System, also known as GPS was created in the late 1970s when Prof Brad Parkinson (the father of GPS) and his team at the US Air Force built it, and the first GPS satellite was launched in 1978. However, GPS wasn’t widely used until an air disaster in 1983 highlighted the need for satellite navigation when Korean Air Lines Flight 007 strayed into Soviet airspace and was shot down. At that time, it was decided that GPS would be made available for civilian use to prevent similar navigation tragedies.
Nowadays, not only GPS helps countless people travel in the right direction, but also it keeps aeroplanes in the sky, props up global trade, farming and construction, and even supports banking transactions.
World Heart Day - September 29, 2026

World Heart Day is an annual observance and celebration held on September 29 intended to increase public awareness of cardiovascular diseases, including their prevention and their global impact. It has been bringing cardiovascular health into the public conversation for more than two decades. It has been developed as a global awareness initiative involving the World Heart Federation and international health organizations, eventually becoming associated with a fixed annual date: September 29.
