Taco Diaphragm Expansion Tanks (CX Series)

  • Taco CX Expansion Tanks accommodate expanding system water in the upper chamber, deflecting the diaphragm and compressing the air charge below it to help control system pressure.
  • The partial-acceptance design suits small heating installations and chilled water systems requiring limited expansion capacity. Tanks feature a fabricated steel shell and a non-replaceable butyl rubber diaphragm.
  • Models: CX30, CX42, CX84, CX130, CX170, CX215, CX254, CX300 and CX350.
  • Tank volume: 30–350 litres (8–92 US gallons).
  • Acceptance capacity: Limited acceptance; varies by model and must be checked separately from total tank volume.
  • Shell: Fabricated steel, designed and constructed to ASME Section VIII, Division 1.
  • Diaphragm: Heavy-duty butyl rubber; non-replaceable.
  • Working pressure: 125 psig (approximately 8.6 bar).
  • Maximum operating temperature: 240°F (116°C).
  • Standard air precharge: 12 psig (approximately 0.83 bar).
  • System connection: 1" NPT.
  • Optional accessories: California sight glass and four seismic/anchor clips.
  • Service: Closed systems only.
  • Helps control pressure changes caused by thermal expansion.
  • Prevents air-charge absorption into system water and associated waterlogging.
  • Provides a compact expansion-control solution for systems with smaller expansion requirements.
  • Offers multiple capacities to match system sizing requirements.
  • Closed hydronic heating and cooling systems.
  • Small heating installations.
  • Chilled water systems requiring smaller expansion volumes.
  • Commercial, institutional and industrial hydronic systems.
  • ASME: Designed, constructed and tested to Section VIII, Division 1 requirements.
