Taco Plate & Frame Heat Exchangers (PF Series)

  • Taco PF Heat Exchangers transfer heat between separate fluid circuits through gasketed metal plates held within a bolted frame. The movable cover provides access for cleaning, inspection and plate replacement.
  • Available with different plate materials, gaskets and pressure ratings, the PF Series can be selected to match the required duty. The frame accommodates at least 10% additional plates for future expansion, subject to selection limits.
  • Plate materials: 304 or 316 stainless steel.
  • Working pressures: 150 or 300 psi (approximately 10.3 or 20.7 bar).
  • Operating temperature: 230°F (110°C) standard, according to current manufacturer information; higher-temperature options available.
  • Gaskets: Nitrile or EPDM, including high-temperature options.
  • Gasket attachment: Glue-free clip-on or snap-on designs for on-site replacement.
  • Connection sizes: 1"–12" in the supplied datasheet.
  • Connection types: NPT up to 2"; lined studded ports above 2".
  • Frame: Bolted construction with fixed and movable covers; epoxy-painted carbon steel surfaces, excluding bolts.
  • Plate guidance: Stainless steel contact surfaces on carrying and guide bars.
  • Expansion allowance: At least 10% additional plates.
  • Leak indication: Gasket design indicates seal leakage before fluids intermix.
  • Options: Aluminium or 304 stainless steel protective shroud.
  • Selection: Computerised sizing to suit fluid properties, temperatures, flow rates and allowable pressure drops.
  • Compact design reduces installation space.
  • Accessible plate pack simplifies cleaning and maintenance.
  • Replaceable plates and glue-free gaskets simplify servicing.
  • Expandable frame supports future capacity adjustments.
  • Separate fluid circuits provide thermal transfer and pressure-zone isolation.
  • Material and gasket options accommodate different operating conditions.
  • Economiser free cooling.
  • Ground-source heat pumps.
  • Groundwater cooling.
  • Water-source heat pump freeze-protection isolation.
