Taco Brazed Plate Heat Exchangers (TB)

  • Taco TB Heat Exchangers use corrugated stainless steel plates brazed together to form separate fluid channels. Heat transfers through the plates without mixing the fluids, while the gasket-free construction provides a compact assembly.
  • Different plate patterns, brazing materials, connections and pressure classes accommodate varying duties. The TB16DW features double-wall construction for improved leak detection and fluid separation.
  • Channel plates: Stainless steel.
  • Brazing materials: Copper; nickel or stainless steel options on selected models.
  • Construction: Vacuum-brazed corrugated plates; no gaskets or external frame.
  • Configurations: Single-wall models and TB16DW double-wall model.
  • Connections: External/internal threads, soldering, Victaulic or flanged options, depending on model.
  • Maximum plate count: 60–360 plates, depending on model.
  • Maximum flow: Model-specific, from 4 m³/h for TB5T to 156 m³/h for TB65.
  • Pressure classes: Standard versions typically 25–38 bar; selected models offer medium/high-pressure versions and CO₂ designs up to 60 bar.
  • Operating limits: Allowable pressure depends on temperature, model, brazing material and certification; select using the applicable pressure–temperature curve.
  • Selection: Software-assisted sizing for thermal duty, fluid properties and connection requirements.
  • Efficient heat transfer within a compact footprint.
  • Gasket-free construction eliminates gasket replacement.
  • Corrugated channels promote turbulence and help reduce fouling.
  • Multiple configurations accommodate different fluids and operating duties.
  • Double-wall option improves leak detection and protection against fluid intermixing.
  • Compact assembly simplifies installation where space is limited.
  • Single-phase fluid heat exchange.
  • Heating and district heating.
  • Water-to-water heat transfer.
  • Oil cooling and industrial processes.
  • Refrigeration and low-capacity chillers.
  • Condensers and air-conditioning desuperheaters.
  • Steam and air-dryer applications.
  • CO₂ suction-gas heat exchange on suitable models.
  • PED: European Pressure Equipment Directive approvals, depending on model.
  • UL: Underwriters Laboratories approvals, depending on model.
  • KHK: Japanese high-pressure gas approvals, depending on model.
  • ASME: Certified versions available, including U or UM stamping.
