Noor Scientific & Trade joins the Water Leaders’ meeting organized by The Holding Company for Water and Wastewater.

The Holding Company for Water and Wastewater continues its dedicated efforts to ensure the provision of safe drinking water across all villages and cities within Egypt. The company also places strong emphasis on expanding wastewater coverage, aiming to enhance public health and environmental sustainability throughout the country.

The presentation emphasized the company’s role in ensuring the delivery of safe, healthy, and internationally compliant drinking water.

Cardio 7 ECG machine

The Cardio7 is a reliable, interpretive touch screen electrocardiogram machine. It features a large 7” TFT LCD touch screen with Wi-Fi. Supports USB flash drive, a QWERTY keyboard, JPEG/PDF file format, one channel long-term recording, and storage of up to 200 ECGs. Eid Al-Fitr Al-Mubarak (March 20, 2026)

Eid Al Fitr 2026 was celebrated on Friday, March 20, 2026, marking the end of Ramadan 1447. Usually, the morning of Eid starts with a major congregational prayer, which is held at the mosques around the world after sunrise. Muslim families around the world spend weeks planning and shopping for the celebration of Eid al-Fitr, which includes the purchasing of new clothes, family dinner preparation, and visits to relatives’ places.

Traditionally, Eid al Fitr is celebrated for three days in almost all Muslim countries.

Antibiotics / Penicillin (1928):

Alexander Fleming's accidental discovery of penicillin changed modern medicine by effectively fighting bacterial infections that were previously fatal. This led to a drastic reduction in human mortality and an increase in life expectancy.

In September 1928, Alexander Fleming, a bacteriologist at St. Mary's Hospital in London, discovered penicillin by chance when he noticed that mold (Penicillium notatum) in a discarded, contaminated petri dish was inhibiting the growth of Staphylococcus bacteria. Fleming recognized the mold was producing a substance that killed bacteria and termed it "penicillin".

In the late 1930s and early 1940s, scientists Howard Florey and Ernst Chain at Oxford University successfully isolated and produced stable penicillin, validating its use as a life-saving antibiotic, particularly for wounded soldiers in WWII.

Penicillin works by disrupting bacterial cell wall synthesis, specifically inhibiting transpeptidase enzymes, which leads to cell lysis.

Honeybees can fly at speeds of up to 15 miles per hour:

On average, a honeybee flies at about 15 to 20 miles per hour when unladen. When laden with nectar, pollen, or water, their speed drops to around 12 mph. Bees rotate their wings to create a low-pressure vortex, providing the necessary lift to stay airborne. They beat their wings roughly 230–250 times per second. While they can travel faster, their typical foraging range is usually shorter to maximize energy efficiency, often staying within a few miles of the hive.

Egypt accelerates its clean-energy shift:

Egypt has taken a significant step toward its clean-energy ambitions signing major power purchase agreements with 2 private-owned facilities to deliver 1.2 GW of solar capacity and 720 MWh of battery storage across two governorates. The announcement underscores Egypt’s rapid movement toward reshaping its energy mix, strengthening grid resilience, and positioning itself as a leading renewable-energy hub in the region.

The agreements mark the consortium’s second national project and reflect deepening partnerships between government institutions and private developers in accelerating Egypt’s green transition.

A greener power sector aligns with Egypt’s long-term growth plan aiming for 7% annual GDP growth and 1.5 million jobs by 2030.

PEMA A 350 Self aligning roller bed

The PEMA A-series of self-aligning roller beds is well-suited for managing unbalanced, thin-walled, and/or heavy cylindrical workpieces. Dar Al-Ifta, Egypt's official body for issuing religious edicts, announced that Thursday, 19 February marks the beginning of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan in the Hijri year 1447.

Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar, is a time of fasting, reflection, prayer, and community for Muslims around the world.

Artificial Satellites:

Satellites were first invented and successfully launched by the Soviet Union on October 4, 1957, with the launch of Sputnik 1. This beach ball-sized, 83.6-kg (184-pound) sphere orbited the Earth every 98 minutes, marking the beginning of the space age and the U.S.-Soviet space race.

Artificial satellites, commonly used for communications, navigation (GPS), and earth observation, are launched via rockets and operate in various orbits, including low Earth orbit (LEO), medium Earth orbit (MEO), and geostationary orbit (GEO).

Tigers are the largest wild cats in the world and can weigh up to 800 pounds:

The tiger is the largest of all living felids, instantly recognizable by its vibrant reddish-orange coat decorated with unique black vertical stripes. Much like human fingerprints, no two stripe patterns are identical. These apex predators exhibit significant size variation depending on their environment. While the Amur (Siberian) tiger has historically been recorded as the largest—with some captive specimens reaching over 800 pounds—wild Bengal tigers in prey-rich regions like Nepal and India often reach comparable sizes, with males averaging 450 pounds.

Accredited by The Egyptian Accreditation Council one year ago, the Calibration Laboratory of Noor Scientific & Trade underwent a comprehensive evaluation by a specialized technical committee from EGAC as a regular procedure for the annual assessment.

The assessment covered technical competence, measurement traceability, calibration methods, equipment performance, and the effectiveness of the quality management system.

The successful outcome of such an annual procedure reaffirms the laboratory’s continued compliance with internationally recognized accreditation requirements and its commitment to delivering accurate, reliable, and traceable calibration services.

The first human brain scanner revolutionized medical imaging in 1971:

The first human brain scanner, developed by Sir Godfrey Hounsfield in 1971, was a Computed Tomography (CT) scanner, which revolutionized medical imaging by producing cross-sectional images of the brain using X-rays. The first patient was scanned in October 1971 at Atkinson Morley's Hospital in London, marking the birth of CT scanning.

The Eiffel Tower “grows” in summer:

The Eiffel Tower grows by up to 15 cm (6 inches) during hot summers due to thermal expansion, where the iron structure heats up and expands. Conversely, the tower contracts and shrinks back to its original height during the winter. This temporary change is caused by the sun heating the metal, causing the atoms to spread out.

Egypt hits record 19 million tourists in 2025:

Egypt achieved a historic milestone in 2025, welcoming a record-breaking 19 million international tourists. According to the latest data from UN Tourism (UNWTO) published in January 2026, this performance represents a 21% year-on-year increase, placing Egypt second globally for growth in tourist arrivals, trailing only Brazil. This surge significantly outpaced the global average growth rate of approximately 5%, cementing Egypt’s status as a premier global destination. This success was attributed to enhanced security, improved air connectivity—including a 32% rise in charter flights—and the high-profile opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) in late 2025.

International Day of Clean Energy (January 26, 2026)

International Day of Clean Energy, which is celebrated every 26 January, aims to raise awareness, call to action and mobilize society in the development, deployment and use of clean energy to ensure fair and inclusive progress sustainable model for all. The UN General Assembly chose this day to commemorate the anniversary of the founding of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) in 2009.
