Taco Vertical Split-Coupled In-Line Pumps (KS / SKS Series)

  • Taco KS pumps combine a space-saving vertical in-line arrangement with hydraulically balanced impellers for efficient operation, reduced bearing loading and low NPSH requirements. A standard seal flush line and throttle bushing protect the mechanical seal. SKS SelfSensing versions provide integrated variable-speed control and ProBalance® balancing; optional ECM packages improve energy efficiency.
  • KS sizes: 1½–14 inches.
  • KS performance: 40–12,500 GPM; 10–380 ft head; ¾–600 HP, depending on model.
  • Working pressure: Standard 175 PSIG (1,210 kPa); optional 300 PSIG (2,070 kPa), subject to pressure–temperature limits.
  • Fluid temperature: Standard 250°F (120°C); cooled seal flushing recommended above 225°F and required above 250°F.
  • Connections: Equal-sized suction/discharge ports with ANSI Class 125 flanges; optional Class 250.
  • Casing: Cast iron; ductile iron casing for Class 250 construction.
  • Impeller: Bronze or stainless steel, depending on construction.
  • Shaft: Type 416 stainless steel.
  • Coupling: Precision 6061-T6 aluminium split coupling.
  • Seal: Ceramic/EPT standard; optional tungsten carbide or silicon carbide.
  • Seal protection: Standard copper/brass flush line and bronze throttle bushing.
  • Service provisions: Suction/discharge pressure taps, casing drain and drilled mounting holes.
  • Options: Bronze wear ring, ductile iron support stand, external seal, 5-micron filter and cyclone separator.
  • SKS controls: Constant flow, constant pressure, flow compensation and duplex alternation; no-flow/dry-run alerts with optional shutdown.
  • ECM package: 3–10 HP, 1,750 RPM, 230/460 V, three-phase, 60 Hz; TEFC motor with required variable-frequency drive.
  • eLink™: NFC access to equipment documentation and support.
  • Small footprint suits restricted mechanical rooms.
  • Seal replacement requires no motor removal or piping disconnection.
  • Balanced axial loads extend bearing life.
  • Efficient impellers and low NPSH requirements support reliable operation.
  • Seal flushing reduces wear and leakage-related downtime.
